Welcome to Climate Crisis Policy and The Earth Bill Network - a nationwide group of expert volunteers and organizations working together to pass scientifically-based federal climate legislation to stop our current pollution now before it’s too late for our children and all life on Earth.
We have four main contributions to the movement:
- A Climate Crisis Policy Digest (below).
- A Climate Bill Package
- The Earth Bill
- Grassroots Action - The Earth Bill Network
- The Climate Crisis Policy Digest (see topics below) compiles the policy ideas from over 150 expert reports, bills and laws, and is organized by Project Drawdown's 100 GHG sources. This was to identify the common ground among activists and experts to help direct us to shared legislative goals. It identifies over 700 policy ideas and cross-references the groups that agree, revealing our collective desires.
- Working from this, we identified a Climate Bill Package of leading legislation on key topics, supported by active organizations, that address various GHG solutions, agriculture, and environmental justice. This was designed to unite activists across topics for collective power and to help build cross-topic Congressional District teams.
- There was no bill with mandates on industry to stop pollution at the factory (as was previously done by the Off Fossil Fuels Act). So we went through a long public grassroots process and created The Earth Bill (HR 598) to mandate 100% renewable electricity, zero-emission vehicles, and regenerative agriculture nationwide by 2030. Experts determined The Earth Bill would eliminate an additional 40% of U.S. GHG emissions by 2030, achieving the Paris Accord goals, the only legislation to do so.
- Our grassroots network is called The Earth Bill Network with over 600 community leaders and 100+ local grassroots and national organizations, working by Congressional District, Faith & State teams.
Ready to take action? Come to Earth BIll Action Meetings, Monday at 7 pm ET, bi-weekly.
Check out The Earth Bill Action page to start working to get your Congressperson to be a cosponsor, to get more groups to pledge support, and otherwise join the team. Everyone is welcome to our inclusive and transparent organizing.
Before you go, please visit the Climate Crisis Policy Digest below by clicking the Topics. Volunteers spent over a year compiling this and it informed the U.S. House Climate Crisis Committee's report. These are the solutions we need to save life on Earth. Now we need to write and pass federal legislation to mandate these actions in law at scale and fast enough to avert disaster.
Our unity is a strategic imperative to prevail against the status quo. Let's agree on our demands. And unite in action for Mother Earth. Welcome all and thank you!
